
Analía Morales and Gabriel Ponce are one of the most recognized and respected Argentine tango couples on the national and international scene. With over 25 years of professional career, they have built a solid artistic career that integrates stage performances, major companies, teaching, choreography, and judging at the world’s most prestigious festivals and competitions.
For 17 years, they were part of the historic Tango x 2 company, directed by Miguel Ángel Zotto, participating in numerous international tours and performing in the most important theaters in Europe, Asia, and America. This experience has shaped a distinctive artistic language, characterized by elegance, musicality, and refined technique.
In Buenos Aires, they were principal dancers in the most traditional and prestigious tango houses, including El Viejo Almacén, El Querandí, and Señor Tango, where they also served as choreographic assistants and artistic directors for over a decade. They are currently one of the leading couples at Madero Tango, one of Argentina’s most renowned shows.
Their artistic training also includes a deep connection to Argentine folk dance. They were members of the Ballet Folklórico Nacional Argentino for five years, performing leading roles in the official repertoire. Subsequently, in 2014, they were selected through a national competition as choreographic assistants for the Ballet Folklórico Nacional Argentino, further expanding their performing and compositional experience.
They have participated in international productions and cultural events, representing Argentina’s artistic identity, including collaborations and tours with Julio Bocca, bringing Argentine tango to prestigious international stages.
Their versatility has led them to work as dancers and choreographers in highly visible productions, including the Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas.
In the competitive and academic fields, they stand out as official judges of the Tango BA Festival and Mundial, participating in official international semifinals, finals, and preliminaries. Among their most notable participations is their role as judges at the Tango Escenario Final of the 2018 World Championship, as well as their presence as judges and instructors at official preliminaries, including in Bali.
As instructors, they carry out intense teaching activities in Argentina, Europe, and Asia, recognized for their technical depth, musical sensitivity, and methodological clarity. Their work stands out for its ability to blend the essence of social tango with the expressive power of stage tango.
